Follow up & Therapeutic Visiting Workshop – for people who have completed our Family Carer training

Monday 22nd September 2025 at 2 pm – 3.30 pm via Zoom

If you have previously attended one of our Family Carers training courses, this is for you. Although the general theme of the session will be Therapeutic Visiting, there will also be the opportunity to revise and discuss how the Understanding Dementia approach has been working out since we last met.

When you register, we will send you an enrolment form – this is really key to complete so that we can prepare in advance of the session, once see how your situation has changed. We will review any common issues that carers are facing, and try to cover those in the session.

Content will include:

Recap of skills learnt in the course – what’s going well, and what’s not

Introducing a new topic of looking at how you spend time with the person you’re supporting

A short presentation about Therapeutic Visiting – whether at a care home, in their home, or even just managing visitors to them at yours, this is relevant to all situations

Arrivals and parting – how to leave behind a sense of well-being

We plan to hold these interactive, online sessions each term, so you just need to book on to one session. If the content doesn’t seem appropriate just now, there will be other chances to join later on.
