DESCRIPTION:Thursday 15th January 2026, 10-11.3o am via Zoom\nIf you have previously attended one of our Family Carers training courses, this is for you. Although the general theme of the session will be Therapeutic Visiting (making visits more enjoyable for both of you, with no regrets afterwards) there will also be the opportunity to revise and discuss how the Understanding Dementia approach has been working out since we last met.\nWhen you register, we will send you an enrolment form – this is really key to complete so that we can prepare in advance of the session, once see how your situation has changed. We will review any common issues that carers are facing, and try to cover those in the session.\nContent will include:\nRecap of skills learnt in the course – what’s going well, and what’s not\nIntroducing a new topic of looking at how you spend time with the person you’re supporting\nA short presentation about Therapeutic Visiting – whether at a care home, in their home, or even just managing visitors to them at yours, this is relevant to all situations\nArrivals and parting – how to leave behind a sense of well-being\nWe plan to hold these interactive, online sessions each term, so you just need to book on to one session.
